Tips for You from My Newsletters
In each newsletter I send out I have some helpful hints which cover all aspects of my special needs coaching practise, my mobility coaching practise, and some general tips which are designed to inform and make you think which may be useful to readers even if they don’t fit into the defined areas of my coaching.
These are my favourites. Enjoy.
Accept graciously
Being gracious in how you accept gifts and compliments, is
a sign of the maturity of the person who receives the gift.
The art of smiling and saying ‘thank you’ is
worth practising. If the giver is happy to give,
make sure you are happy to receive.
Achievement
Be proud
of what you have achieved. If you know you have done
the very best you can, then you have also achieved the most
you can in the given circumstances.
Add value
Add value to everything you do just because you can. Give
more time, more love, more care, do more than you are paid
for, take time for others always.
Children
Remember children pick up and reflect your confidence levels. Are
your confidence levels worth others reflecting them?
Communication
All communication is a loving response, or a cry for help. How
do you sound when you communicate with others, and what is
your response to their form of communication?
Cultivate the success mindset
Take
the initiative, set up a chain of action to create your success
one small step at a time.
Destination
You
have to know where you are going, in order to know when you
have reached your destination
Friends
Friends
are like balloons if you let them float away it may be impossible
to get them back
Happiness
It’s
not what happens that determines your happiness; it’s how you think about
what happens that is crucial. No one is in charge
of your happiness except you.
How is your to-do list?
To make it
disappear more quickly, rename it as an action list
and put a completion date by each item.
Integrity
Integrity
is about being whole, where all the pieces of your life fit
together and are integrated into an unhindered freedom to
be the real person you are.
Learning
Learning is
not compulsory……neither is survival
Life
No matter how thin you slice it, always
remember there are always 2 sides to it.
Love
Remember
always that you must first give love, to those around you,
so that you can receive love in return.
Mobility tips
For those who have a family member who uses sticks or crutches,
please remember to check the rubber tips regularly. Like
worn tyres, worn rubber tips on sticks or crutches have no
grip and aquaplane when wet. The best rubber tips on sticks
have circular ridges in contact with the floor. Please also
remember to dry the tips on the doormat when you come inside
from the rain, particularly if you are walking on to tiles,
lino or marble.
Networking tips
Networking
is about building relationships for mutual benefit. Do you
build relationships or sabotage them?
Respect
Always respect people in the same way as you wish to be respected
Rudyard Kipling said: "You don’t get the garden to grow by sitting in the shade."
Speaking
Speak pleasantly
to everyone, including the dog, all the time
Sunshine
When people
see you do they see sunshine? Or……?
Take a risk
Be willing
to dream, and step out of your comfort zone to create something new in your
life. Remember life without dreams is a life without possibilities
Time management
Be realistic
when you allocate your time. A job with a challenging component always
takes longer, as you have to resolve the challenge as well as complete the
task.
Values
Is your
life a living representation of the things you hold most valuable? If trust
is something you value for yourself, are you actively radiating trust in
your personal lives and business dealings? If you are not living your values,
why not?
Work more efficiently
If you combine
like things together, you complete the tasks more quickly and resourcefully. Download
and answer your emails morning and night, return all telephone calls in one
batch, pay your bills once a week, open your mail at a specific time, bin the
junk and sort the rest into ‘pay,’ ’action,’ ‘respond’ piles
and schedule a time to complete each batch of tasks. Completion of a batch
can then be more easily and efficiently achieved.
Remember I care about YOUR ability to enjoy YOUR life.
